Kyle's 747 Story

Growing up in a regional town of Queensland, my childhood was that of farming and agriculture. I never had the experiences of most children, though they would never understand mine. I’d often look to the skies to see the flying kangaroo (distinctive by its red tail) far above the farm plains. I dreamt of someday being in those aircraft looking down to that same child. My grandfather often spoke of his trip to Longreach on the QR Spirit of the Outback, where he visited the QANTAS Museum, and would emphasise his admiration of the iconic airline. To today, I’ve never experienced QANTAS or the 747, though I have one image that I’ll cherish forever. On a road trip, you can see the speed in the image as we passed by the Spirit of Australia in Longreach.
